David H. Holtzman is a writer, technologist, former military codebreaker, author, and futurist who is interested in global societal impacts brought about by ubiquitous access to unvetted information.

An early Internet pioneer, Holtzman designed and built numerous information management systems and is the author of several major patents. In the late 1990s, as CTO of Network Solutions, he ran the Domain Name System (DNS) and managed the “Dot,” the Internet's master root server. Prior to that he was a Chief Scientist at IBM and ran a major research group at Booz-Allen & Hamilton. For the last six years, he’s worked with blockchain companies. He is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at Naoris Protocol.

Earlier, he was a cryptographer, submariner, and intelligence analyst.

He’s an inveterate traveler who’s visited over 80 countries, climbed Kilimanjaro, hiked across the Outback, hiked Antarctica and the Serengeti, horse-trekked in Mongolia twice, and dog-sledded in Lapland. He is a licensed sailboat captain and advanced scuba diver.

He lives in Washington, DC and when he’s not working with tech companies, writes Thriller novels.
